Izpod Korenin (from under the roots) is a duo passionate about south slavic folk music, especially fond of it's older, most authentic forms. Emphasizing simple duophonies in their interpretations, they seek to awaken the memories of long lost times throught song. Times when the world was more organic and human culture reflected that. They use traditional instruments such as the Macedonian kemene, tamburica, and simple drums from the Near East. With these, they aim to honor rich traditions while also dissolving geographical and cultural boundaries. This time Izpod Korenin will be accompanied by tapan and tarbuka player Dejan Jovanov, percussionist of the folk music choir Etno Zbor Ljelje. He will enrich the sound with more intricate rythmic patterns and a deep booming beat. Perfect for dancing!
