The interior of an old house, inhabited by the memory of an old lady, falls apart. Gradually, the ruins of that house are submerged by the water of a river mouth. The landscape now hosts a Heron, symbol of rebirth, that is about to build its nest: a new home for a new life. The animal encounters objects that are about to get lost once they have crossed the border between river and sea. Each of them contains in itself the history of human lives which they were silent spectators of before being abandoned. In this mouth of the river there is everything that, despite its significance, has been forgotten at the end of the world. We have this big Heron puppet animated by 2 puppeteers, and right now we have a 20 minutes show with it. Given the playful and unpredictable nature of the festival, we want to push the heron outside the confort zone of our show. It will walk around, interact, create uncanny situations. We are also working on another version of the show, where the heron and the old lady are competing for the last pieces of food on earth. We think your festival could be a great occasion to try out some funny new things with our characters. Therefore, our show at your festival could also premiere in its new form.
