Mart is a music group from the Vipava Valley, consisting of Nejc Franca on drums and percussion, Rok Velikonja on piano, Ram Cunta on guitar, Jani Peljhan on bass guitar, and Igor Vuk at the mixing desk. Their music captures moments of experience, emotion, and thought, shaped through improvisation during their musical gatherings. A strong rhythm section provides a solid foundation for guitar and piano melodies to unfold. Their sound is neither jazz nor rock, nor even punk—it’s based on free improvisation without boundaries. This is not a typical jazz ensemble or an ordinary post-rock band. The quartet of musicians from the Vipava Valley creates inventive instrumental music, full of complex rhythms, melodic piano progressions, and virtuosic guitar transitions. Their style is characterized by a relaxed and free-spirited approach, which comes to life in energetic improvisations—without singing, but with a good dose of raw, primal screaming.
