The CowShack Collective (SI)
The CowShack Collective is a group of four musicians and close friends who have been collaborating in various settings for nearly a decade. Over the years, they’ve developed a distinctive group sound and a shared musical language. Their compositions are a collective effort, drawing inspiration from folk melodies and rhythms that surrounded them throughout their childhoods, while also reflecting their diverse musical journeys. The group performs without a harmonic instrument, creating organic, almost primal soundscapes that mirror the raw and expressive nature of their music. Their sound ranges from lively Balkan-inspired rhythms to beautiful melodies, captivating audiences with each performance. The project explores the foundational elements of our musical identity—examining what they are, how they can be shaped into a cohesive form, and how to effectively balance the individual voices within the group. It seeks to understand how thoughtful design can evoke a transcendental experience for both performers and listeners. At the same time, it offers a deep reflection on our place within the wider musical landscape and our capacity to navigate and define our own artistic direction within it.

CowShack Collective je skupina štirih glasbenikov in tesnih prijateljev, ki že skoraj desetletje sodelujejo v različnih zasedbah. V tem času so razvili prepoznaven zvok in skupen glasbeni jezik. Njihove skladbe nastajajo kolektivno, navdih črpajo iz ljudskih melodij in ritmov, ki so jih obdajali v otroštvu, obenem pa odražajo njihove raznolike glasbene poti. Skupina igra brez harmoničnega instrumenta, kar ustvarja organske, skoraj prvinske zvočne krajine, ki odsevajo surovo in izrazno naravo njihove glasbe. Zvok zasedbe se razteza od živahnih ritmov, navdihnjenih z balkansko tradicijo, do čudovitih melodij, s katerimi vedno znova očarajo občinstvo. Projekt raziskuje temeljne elemente naše glasbene identitete — kaj so, kako jih je mogoče oblikovati v celovito formo in kako uravnotežiti posamezne glasove znotraj skupine. Obenem želi razumeti, kako lahko premišljena zasnova vzbudi transcendentalno izkušnjo tako za izvajalce kot poslušalce. S tem ponuja tudi globok razmislek o našem mestu v širšem glasbenem prostoru in naši sposobnosti, da znotraj njega poiščemo in začrtamo lastno umetniško pot.
