Ethno Histeria World Orchestra is an international project that has been bringing together musicians from all over the world for over 20 years. Every year, in the middle of summer, musicians from all continents travel to Slovenia, where they intensively rehearse the program that they create together during the workshops. The musicians exchange folk and traditional compositions from their own surroundings, and in some cases also original compositions, which are then manifested in the sound of the original interpretation of the 100-member orchestra.
After an intensive week of mutual learning and creation, the orchestra goes on a tour around Slovenia, Croatia and Italy, where it serves a delicious minestrone of compositions from all over the world, spiced up with the author's approach of each of the participants. The one-hundred-member orchestra, led by a group of experienced mentors, plays without notes and always creates new dynamics with improvisation, which is why every concert of their tour is a new and unexpected event for both the listeners and the orchestra.
After two intense weeks, the unique orchestra falls apart and musicians, in most cases, continue with collaborations all across the world in smaller constellations. Etno Histeria is the godfather to many successful projects, as it defines a completely different musical perspective, which is not common in classical educational principles. Communication, composition, creation, interpretation and improvisation, all done by ear and without too much explanation is a tool, which can be hardly achieved to such an extent in any other artistic expression.
